Forterra in Arlington, VA is seeking an hands-on IT Infrastructure Engineer to manage on-prem virtualization, storage, and the GCC High identity layer. You will work across Proxmox clusters, NetApp, Veeam, and Entra ID to deploy and harden our infrastructure.

The role emphasizes breadth over specialization, with collaboration across Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, and Development. You will participate in disaster recovery planning and automation using Ansible, mentoring peers as the team

Qualifications

• Hands-on Windows Server administration with patching and hardening.
• Solid Linux administration in virtualization context.
• Production experience with on-prem virtualization: Proxmox or VMware.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Entra ID and Azure Government concepts.
• Ability to design and deploy infrastructure across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Virtualization and storage: Run and evolve Proxmox VE clusters and NetApp systems.
• Hybrid identity and cloud: Administer Entra ID and Azure Government and AD/Intune; coordinate with Cybersecurity.
• Windows and Linux: Harden and patch Windows Server and Ubuntu/Debian.
• Architecture: Design enterprise-scale infrastructure across Forterra sites.
• Resilience: Shape disaster recovery and business continuity strategy.
• Automation: Extend configuration-as-code with Ansible.
• Mentorship: Mentor engineers and raise the bar.
