Job summary

GTA seeks a Systems Administrator to serve as the technical backbone for its virtualization and storage infrastructure supporting wireless and broadband network functions on the island. You will manage Proxmox/VMware/KVM clusters, Ceph and SAN storage, and ensure high availability, data integrity, and disaster-recovery readiness.

In this role you’ll collaborate with RAN/core network engineers, apply security patches, and optimize backup/replication using Veeam across VM and storage environments,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of systems administration experience supporting telecom or carrier network infrastructure (wireless core, RAN, or broadband access networks).
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization platforms — Proxmox VE and/or VMware vSphere/ESXi — hosting VNFs; KVM-based virtualization knowledge required.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAN/enterprise storage administration (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, Pure Storage).
• Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication for VM-level backup, replication, and recovery in virtualized environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer virtualization hosts and clusters (Proxmox VE, VMware vSphere/ESXi, or KVM) running VNFs for wireless core, RAN, and broadband systems.
• Manage Proxmox-integrated storage (Ceph, ZFS) and SAN storage infrastructure, including pool configuration and replication.
• Maintain OS on network application servers and NMS platforms; monitor performance and capacity.
• Implement disaster recovery and high-availability architectures with backup and replication.
• Coordinate with RAN, core network, and RF teams for maintenance windows and upgrades.
