Job summary

UMATR is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead deployment of self-hosted and on-premise infrastructure for enterprise customers. You will act as the technical expert for Linux, Bare Metal, and deployment reliability, supporting secure and air-gapped environments, and collaborating with customer IT and security teams.

You will build automation, improve provisioning workflows, and drive observability and reliability across customer deployments, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Proven experience supporting production infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Experience debugging issues across infrastructure, networking and application layers.
• Comfortable working directly with customers and external stakeholders.
• Experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and GitOps tooling.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure operations.
• Experience with hardware provisioning, datacentre environments or on-premise infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Exposure to air-gapped, highly regulated or security-focused environments is a plus.
• Willingness to travel for customer deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployments of self-hosted and on-premise infrastructure for enterprise customers.
• Act as the technical expert for Linux, bare metal infrastructure and deployment reliability.
• Support customer implementations, including secure and air-gapped environments.
• Troubleshoot complex Linux, networking, Kubernetes and infrastructure issues in production.
• Work directly with customer infrastructure, IT and security teams to ensure successful deployments.
• Build and improve deployment automation, provisioning tools and operational workflows.
• Develop documentation, runbooks and best practices to improve deployment consistency.
• Improve the scalability, observability and reliability of self-hosted infrastructure.
• Contribute to the long-term strategy for regulated and customer-managed deployments.
• Travel to customer sites when required to support critical implementations.
