Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Platform Engineer in Alabama to lead platform engineering efforts, oversee the team, and align solutions with customer needs. You will design, build, and maintain scalable systems that meet business goals.

You will drive CI/CD practices, work with Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments, and collaborate with clients to translate requirements into reliable, secure software and hardware components.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience deploying or running applications on Red Hat OpenShift.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes for application deployments.
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows.
• Experience with Helm or templated Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
• Experience deploying or running applications on Red Hat OpenShift
• Strong experience with container image creation
• Strong experience with Spark, Trino, Airflow, and Iceberg
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts from an application perspective
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows
• Experience with Helm or templated Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
