Job summary

APM Terminals in Mobile, Alabama is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead enterprise-scale infrastructure design, virtualization, cloud, storage, and automation initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, drive security and resilience, partner with stakeholders, and guide modernization across compute, backup, DR, and network domains. On-site role with standard hours; relocation support available.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting enterprise virtualization environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and modern infrastructure architectures.
• Ability to lead complex technical projects and influence stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security, resilience, and DR/BC principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions across virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and cloud environments.
• Lead complex infrastructure projects from planning through implementation with risk management.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and serve as final escalation for critical incidents.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure roadmaps and modernization strategies.
• Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code to improve scalability and consistency.
• Drive security, recovery, and business continuity across platforms.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices across the team.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and conduct PoCs to assess business value.
