Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Mobile, Alabama, to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-scale infrastructure. You will lead modernization efforts across virtualization, cloud, compute, and storage, while guiding teams and ensuring reliability, security, and continuity.

Ideal candidates will have extensive VMware/Nutanix experience, AWS skills, and a proactive mindset. This is a full-time on-site role with regular business hours and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting enterprise virtualization environments (VMware; Nutanix preferred).
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS, and modern infra architectures.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of security, resilience, DR, and business continuity.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions across virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and cloud.
• Lead complex infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and escalation for critical incidents.
• Develop infrastructure standards and roadmaps.
• Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code to improve scalability.
• Drive security, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and run PoCs.
• Lead capacity planning and performance optimization.
• Conduct root cause analysis and preventive measures.
