Job summary

Google's Infra Bigtable team is hiring a Software Engineer III to help scale Google's largest structured storage system. Based in New York or Sunnyvale, you will write code for distributed infrastructure, mentor teammates, and influence architectural decisions.

The role emphasizes performance, reliability, and collaboration across multiple Google Cloud services. As part of a mid-level role, you will own components, participate in design reviews, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while advancing

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 2 years of experience with C++ software development.
2 years with concurrent programming or performance optimization.
2 years architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and its impact.
