Google's infrastructure team seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Infra Bigtable, to design and build large-scale distributed systems in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires deep expertise in C++, concurrent programming, and distributed storage architectures, with opportunities to work across Sunnyvale and New York offices. You will mentor others and contribute to high-availability backend services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with software development using C++.
• 5 years of experience with concurrent programming (e.g., multi-threading, asynchronous processing) or analyzing and optimizing software performance.
• 5 years of experience architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems (e.g., compute, storage, or databases).

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and its impact.
