Job summary

Google is seeking software engineers to build next-generation technologies at scale. As a software engineer, you will work on projects critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams as you grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience with concurrent programming or analyzing and optimizing software performance.
• 5 years of experience architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.


• 5 years of experience with software development using C++.


• 5 years of experience with concurrent programming (e.g., multi-threading, asynchronous processing) or analyzing and optimizing software performance.


• 5 years of experience architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems (e.g., compute, storage, or databases).

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.


• Experience engineering database internals (e.g., storage engines, consensus algorithms, replication protocols, or query optimization).


• Experience building and operating high-throughput backend services, distributed architectures, or systems with strict high-availability requirements.


• Experience contributing to shared enterprise-level codebases or utilizing continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
