Job summary

NorthMark Strategies LLC is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and run the corporate IT infrastructure that sustains our group companies. You will be a hands-on technical expert, act as an escalation point for the team, and help raise engineering standards through mentoring and example.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an infrastructure engineering role with enterprise IT components (networking, virtualization, storage, cloud, domain services).
• Strong proficiency in both Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
• Hands-on experience designing, operating and troubleshooting large VMware estates or other virtualization platforms.
• Experience with automation/DevOps tooling (Ansible, Python, Terraform, CI/CD) automating real operational work.
• Knowledge of IT security principles and building security into designs and solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, results-oriented mindset, and ability to diagnose complex issues under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience delivering projects with Agile or other delivery methodologies.
• Collaborative approach with willingness to mentor and develop others.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain corporate infrastructure including servers, storage, domain services, cloud services, and enterprise apps.
• Act as a senior technical authority, providing guidance, design reviews, and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Contribute to technology strategy and roadmap to shape priorities and direction.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve reliability, security and operational efficiency.
• Lead infrastructure projects from design to handover on time and within scope.
• Own resolution of complex incidents and perform root cause analysis for lasting fixes.
• Build disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities with regular testing.
• Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
• Integrate security into designs with collaboration from security teams to meet policy and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver business-aligned solutions.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, standards and runbooks.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours support when required.
