Job summary

Applied Information Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to architect and implement complex cloud-based solutions from Reston, VA, with remote work options across the United States. This role emphasizes scalable, secure infrastructure, data pipelines, and governance.

You will design and deploy multi-region cloud architectures using Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, FluxCD, and Azure DevOps, while collaborating with clients and teams to deliver enterprise-grade results.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years of software engineer or related experience.
• Experience designing/deploying Cloud infrastructure using reusable Terraform modules to provision Kubernetes clusters, networking components, storage accounts, RBAC roles, and other Cloud services through Terraform Cloud for governance and automation.
• Onboarding applications into Kubernetes with Helm and GitOps (FluxCD).
• Building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for both infrastructure and application deployments.
• Cloud networking design, including VNets, private endpoints, DNS, Application Gateway, Front Door, and API management (APIM).
• Deploying/maintaining multi-region workloads, testing failover, and disaster recovery processes, and automating governance through Terraform Cloud and Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable and secure systems; develop and optimize data pipelines and stream applications to ensure high performance, reliability, and data integrity.
• Lead architectural initiatives; establish performance benchmarks; integrate systems at scale; research emerging tech and mitigate enterprise risk.
• Produce executive-ready design artifacts; enforce standards with broad autonomy; communicate designs and governance to stakeholders.
