Job summary

Reserv is an InsurTech company building AI-driven automation to streamline claims. We seek a Sr Infrastructure Engineer (DevOps) to scale our AWS-based platform, automate deployments, and ensure high availability across containerized services.

You’ll own CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and implement robust monitoring with Datadog as part of a fast-growing team. You will collaborate with engineers to optimize performance, security, and cost, while shaping infrastructure as code using

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sr Infrastructure Engineer (DevOps Engineer )to join the Reserv team. The ideal candidate will manage and further automate our AWS-based infrastructure, support and improve the deployment process supporting our containerized services, and ensure high availability. You will oversee the continuous integration and delivery pipelines running within GitHub Actions and build monitoring and alerting processes using Datadog.

A Reserv DevOps engineer is expected to be responsive to the needs of the engineering team and to issues relating to system performance and availability.

What we need

We need you to do all the things typical of the role:

• Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform/Terragrunt, and related Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools across multiple accounts within an AWS Organization.
• Implement and oversee configuration management (including secrets), version control, and infrastructure change processes.
• Continuously optimize infrastructure for performance, cost efficiency, and high availability.

Deployments & CI/CD

• Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions to support secure, reliable, and frequent deployments of containerized services.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline code delivery and ensure efficient, automated release processes.
• Manage and support deployment pipelines for Next.js services running within the Vercel hosting platform.

Reliability, Security & Compliance

• Design and implement cloud services and solutions in a highly available manner
• Implement and enforce Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and procedures.
• Support regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and compliance checks.
• Apply industry standards and best practices to implement robust cloud security.
• Develop and manage scalable systems with built-in monitoring, logging, and incident response mechanisms.
• Design and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Networking & Systems

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based networking (using AWS VPCs, NAT Gateways, Network ACLs, and Security Groups), secure remote access, and integrations with third parties.
• Ensure robust data backup and recovery processes are in place and regularly tested.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations for ongoing improvements.
• Work closely with internal teams to deliver solutions that empower internal stakeholders.
• Communicate ideas, technical concepts, and specifications clearly through detailed documentation within tools like Notion and JIRA.
• Influence the culture, values, and processes of a growing technology team that spans many time zones.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate effectively with service providers.

Requirements

• Deep experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployments.
• Strong knowledge of containerization with Docker and deploying containerized services on AWS ECS.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform and/or Terragrunt) approaches for provisioning and configuration management.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, S3, CloudWatch, and ECR, including cost management, monitoring, and scaling workloads.
• Skilled in managing a security posture through AWS IAM roles, policies, and permissions and resource policies following least-privilege principles.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, tooling, and integration tasks.
• Understanding of networking, security, and secrets management within AWS and CI/CD environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills. Have a strong technical skillset, but also the willingness and ability to take on tasks outside your core competencies
