About the Role

As a Staff Software Engineer at Reserv, you will be at the heart of our growth journey, shaping the future of our technology and platform. You are a passionate engineer with a proven track record of leading and executing large projects. In this role you will build a beautiful, powerful product from a user‑story driven front‑end all the way to a scalable back‑end with robust APIs that enable easy integration with next‑generation solutions. We seek engineers with strong full‑stack skills, a curiosity for systems, a propensity for end‑to‑end ownership of features, and the ability to both work independently and collaborate well with fellow engineers and business‑side teammates.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver on business‑impacting goals.
• Rapidly deliver large, cross‑functional, high‑impact projects while proactively identifying and mitigating risk.
• Communicate clearly with executive‑level stakeholders internally and externally.
• Work with our tech stack: Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Typescript, React, GraphQL, NextJS, AWS.
• Distill core interactions for customers of Reserv—from the homepage to the developer dashboard, documentation centers, and SDKs—and ship code that improves their experience.
• Build frontend and backend components that enhance the Reserv integration experience.
• Commit on your first day and deploy code continuously.
• Support developers at customer companies.
• Collaborate closely with product ops, design, and sales teams, and mentor junior engineers as we scale.
• Communicate ideas and specifications through detailed, precise writing.
• Influence the culture, values, and processes of a growing engineering team.
• Support the engineering function globally.
• Enjoy and be creative, thinking outside the box to solve new challenges.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as an individual contributor using modern programming languages and front‑end frameworks.
• Strong, demonstrated ability to ship high‑quality products—both at work and in side projects or open‑source contributions.
• A passion for building intuitive technology and a thirst for learning.
• Ability to think through customer requirements and prioritize must‑haves, nice‑to‑haves, and irrelevancies.
• Strong technical skillset combined with the willingness and ability to take on tasks outside your core competency.
