Job summary

Jobtailor in Pittsburgh seeks an experienced Infrastructure Lead to manage and advance enterprise infrastructure. You will lead staff, oversee complex changes, and coordinate with vendors while delivering reliable, secure, and scalable IT services.

The role requires hands-on Azure and virtualization expertise, plus strong leadership and incident-management skills, in a hybrid or on-site setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, engineering, or equivalent experience.
7+ years infrastructure experience; 3+ years leading staff or teams.
Hands-on Azure, enterprise networking, virtualization, backup/recovery, and automation.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop infrastructure staff through assignments, feedback, and planning.
Turn priorities into a clear backlog with owners and timelines.
Manage staffing coverage, maintenance windows, and on-call rotation.
Stay technically engaged and act as escalation point for complex infra issues.
Configure, troubleshoot, and validate solutions across Azure, Windows, Linux, VMware, storage, and networks.
Lead or support high-risk changes, incidents, root-cause analysis, and actions.
Ensure patching, backups, DR tests, capacity, and routine maintenance.
Guide infrastructure automation and IaC practices for repeatable deployments.
Oversee projects and migrations from planning to cutover and docs.
Coordinate with vendors/consultants and transfer knowledge to staff.
Collaborate with cybersecurity to implement controls and findings.
Keep runbooks, diagrams, inventories, and support procedures current.
