Job summary

Muon Space in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Camera Systems Engineer to own infrared camera subsystems across multiple programs. You will define specifications, manage ICDs, and lead testing from concept through qualification.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in imaging systems and infrared remote sensing.
• Proficient in Python or C++.
• Experience with precision optical metrology and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Own development of visible and thermal camera subsystems, ICDs, and performance testing.
• Define test requirements, pass/fail criteria, and test strategies with hardware teams.
• Set environmental qualification parameters and review test data.
• Support environmental and V&V testing of subsystems and instruments.
• Improve best practices, processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with instrument teams, data scientists, AI/AT and managers.
