Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience or MS with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years.
• Shipping/operating production Python data pipelines and backend services on AWS or equivalent.
• Hands-on with a modern workflow orchestrator and containerized deployments.
• Strong Python engineering fundamentals and CI/CD practices.
• Production-grade observability: logging, metrics, dashboards, alerts.
• Geospatial domain knowledge and libraries (GDAL/OGR, rasterio, PROJ).
• Ability to work with a distributed team of scientists and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate robust production pipelines from L0 to L1 imagery and derived products.
• Optimize infrastructure, latency, and algorithms to reduce processing time and cost.
• Build geospatial data discovery, APIs, and a STAC catalog for internal and customer use.
• Create internal data-visualization and inspection tools for debugging geospatial data.
• Maintain testing and release infrastructure; productionize research code with observability.
• Collaborate with Remote Sensing Data Scientists and other teams on shared contracts.
