Job summary

Qualifications

• ~6+ years of experience in backend or systems engineering.
• Experience building and scaling large systems with ownership.
• Ability to write high quality code and design scalable infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Convex’s global cloud infrastructure.
• Investigate and improve the performance and reliability of our systems.
• Be self-directed in prioritizing projects in collaboration with the team and CTO.
• Own architectural decisions that shape long-term behavior of core systems.
• Help establish technical direction and engineering standards.
• Work across the stack when needed, not limited to a single layer.
• Write a bunch of cool systems and database code.
• Collaborate with James and the CTO on key technical choices.
