Job summary

Google Sunnyvale, CA invites a Senior Software Engineer to help design and implement infrastructure for Google Distributed Cloud VM management. You will work on virtualization, distributed systems, and low-level networking, contributing to air-gapped and software-only VM solutions.

Responsibilities include building, debugging, and optimizing VM platforms with Go, C, Kubernetes, QEMU/KVM, and Linux internals, while collaborating across teams to deliver secure, scalable cloud capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of Go software development and network architecture experience.
• Experience with distributed computing and systems infrastructure.
• Experience with container tech (Docker/Kubernetes) or Linux internals.

Responsibilities

• Develop VMs for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), including air-gapped and connected products.
• Debug testing platforms to run secure, demanding customer workloads.
• Build and debug a VM cloud product using Kubernetes, QEMU, KubeVirt, KVM, Go, C, Unix shell scripting, and Linux internals.
