Job summary

Aalyria is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Spacetime engineering team, working on multicloud, Kubernetes-based systems across cloud and edge environments. You will design, develop, test, and maintain core software powering planetary mesh networks.

The role requires 5+ years in production infrastructure or distributed systems, strong CS fundamentals, and hands-on AWS/GCP, IaC, and Kubernetes experience. Remote-friendly with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience with production infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals; automate infrastructure in code.
• Experience with AWS or GCP, infrastructure-as-code, cloud networking, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Experience packaging and delivering software onto Kubernetes, with templating, rendering, and controller-based approaches.

Responsibilities

• Build foundations for Aalyria environments: accounts, projects, networking, DNS/IPAM, identity, RBAC, quotas, and policy.
• Own Kubernetes cluster lifecycle end to end – provisioning, upgrades, addons – and the networking layer.
• Ensure patterns are consistent across environments and account for cloud-provider differences.
• Define packaging and configuration for Spacetime on Kubernetes; decide Helm, rendering, or controllers.
• Build delivery paths: GitOps with Argo CD, IaC orchestration, drift detection, policy gates, multi-environment promotion.
• Manage fleet-scale changes: versioning, staged rollouts, migrations, deprecations.
