Job summary

Aalyria is seeking a strong backend Software Engineer to join the Spacetime team and help build the next generation of our platform for 5G NTN orchestration and Direct-to-Cell services. You will design distributed cloud-native systems, coordinating with 3GPP/NTN architects and satellite operators.

You will work across C++, Golang, Java, and gRPC to implement scalable interfaces, RIC/SMO capabilities, and federation APIs, while embedding best practices for reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience in C++, Go, and/or Java.
• Knowledge of gRPC and Protocol Buffers.
• Experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Familiarity with wireless/satellite communications is a plus.
• Strong technical communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Spacetime platform using C++, Go, Java, gRPC, and Protobufs.
• Build scalable distributed systems on Kubernetes and Helm.
• Design features for 5G NTN and Direct-to-Cell orchestration with NTN models.
• Translate 3GPP/O-RAN specs into robust software with architects.
• Integrate with other Aalyria components for end-to-end function.
• Maintain design and implementation documentation.
• Stay current with 5G NTN, O-RAN, and satellite communications trends.
