Job summary

d-Matrix is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our fully remote U.S. team. You will own first response for issues across Kubernetes clusters, GitLab CI runners, VMs, and demo environments, diagnosing problems end-to-end and driving automation through runbooks.

This role involves on-call coverage and cross-team collaboration. Our environment blends cloud resources, on‑prem servers, and AI accelerators.

Qualifications

• 2+ years operating production Linux systems and Kubernetes troubleshooting.
• Methodical debugging across layers to isolate issues quickly.
• Scripting in Python and/or Bash for automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems, GitLab preferred.
• Strong networking knowledge: DNS, routing, load balancing, TLS.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools.
• Clear, concise incident status updates under pressure.
• Curiosity to learn unfamiliar systems and advanced inference tech.

Responsibilities

• Own first response and resolution for issues across Kubernetes clusters, GitLab and CI runners, VMs, standalone systems, and demo environments
• Triage across IT and product groups when root cause lies elsewhere
• Convert recurring issues into automation, alerts, and runbooks
• Improve monitoring and alerting to reduce false alarms and speed problem detection
• Perform routine operational tasks: upgrades, patching, renewals, capacity checks
• Ship automation and improvements beyond individual fixes
• Participate in on-call coverage
• Contribute to design/build work as scope grows
