Job summary

Docker is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve Billing Platform infra on AWS, focusing on safe AI-assisted deployments, observability, and reliability at scale.

You will design IaC, lead incident response, and collaborate with engineers across teams to reduce risk and improve deployment safety. This role emphasizes security, strong written English, and leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform, infrastructure, or SRE roles for production SaaS systems
• Deep AWS expertise: ECS/EKS, RDS, networking, IAM, cost management
• Expert-level Terraform with reusable module patterns
• Observability stack ownership (Datadog/Grafana)
• Strong CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) including design
• Kubernetes at operational/architectural level
• Identify systemic risks spanning teams/organizations
• Security-first mindset: threat modeling and least-privilege design
• Excellent written English in a Staff-level role
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve infrastructure for Billing Platform services: compute, storage, networking, CI/CD, observability
• Design and maintain IaC (Terraform) for billing infra on AWS; set module patterns/standards
• Build and own observability systems with a focus on billing accuracy and payment reliability
• Define deployment patterns and runbooks for AI-agent-assisted development with safe rollback
• Collaborate with software engineers to incorporate infrastructure constraints early
• Identify systemic risks and drive cross-team improvements
• Lead on-call/incident response for billing system issues as needed
• Mentor engineers to raise technical capability
