Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Specialist in Information Security Systems Engineering in Salt Lake City, UT.

This role focuses on security architecture oversight, requirements traceability, and RMF activities across software, networks, FPGA, and hardware teams to meet customer mission goals. Ideal candidates have a strong background in cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and hands-on engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or cybersecurity with minimum 6 years of relevant experience, or graduate degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active Secret security clearance is required.
• Experience applying NIST SP 800-53 and STIGs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply security controls from NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253 into user-friendly requirements for engineers.
• Support implementation and validation of STIGs and other baselines.
• Execute RMF lifecycle activities including categorization, control selection, implementation, assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain RMF documentation (SSP, SAR, POA&Ms, Security Plans).
• Review system designs to ensure security requirements are met across software, networking, and hardware.
• Interface with Authorizing Officials and external assessors to support authorization efforts.
• Track and report compliance status, risks, and remediation activities to program leadership.
• Travel up to 10% as needed.
