Kite & Key is actively seeking an Information Security Officer / Cyber Security Consultant on a part-time or consultant basis. This role covers protecting IT infrastructure, devices, networks, and data, with emphasis on preventing breaches and rapid incident response.

The candidate will assess security posture, develop monitoring programs, and guide staff in secure remote/hybrid work practices. There is flexibility for remote work with NYC hybrid options and senior leadership collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing threats to security and implementing defensive protocols.
• Background in hosting, backups, NAS, and WordPress security.
• Experience protecting PII and consumer data in e-commerce settings.
• Familiarity with hybrid work environments across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assess the company's current security infrastructure.
• Develop monitoring and maintenance programs for threat protection.
• Protect staff hardware and software in remote and hybrid environments.
• Outline data management and sharing guidelines for staff.
• Implement security features and software as needed.
• Oversee IT, cybersecurity, and risk management programs.
• Communicate vulnerabilities and updates to senior leadership.
• Develop data loss protection procedures.
• Prepare annual infosec budget proposals.
