Job summary

Ventura Housing is seeking a Senior Information Technology Technician to guide day-to-day IT operations, mentor staff, and troubleshoot complex technology challenges.

You will work with the Director of Information Technology on projects affecting residents, employees, and the community, including cybersecurity and cloud services, identity management, networking, and enterprise applications such as Yardi. Leadership and initiative are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Experience leading IT teams or projects in a public agency or similarly regulated environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex IT systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical staff and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day IT operations and mentor team members.

Join Ventura Housing as Our Senior Information Technology Technician

Are you an experienced technology professional who enjoys solving complex problems, leading others, and using technology to make an organization work smarter, safer, and more efficiently? Ventura Housing is seeking a Senior Information Technology Technician to play a key role in supporting and advancing the technology systems that help us serve our employees, residents, and community.

This is more than a traditional IT support position. As a senior technical resource and team leader, you will help guide day-to-day IT operations, mentor and support team members, troubleshoot complex technology challenges, and work closely with the Director of Information Technology and Maintenance on projects that directly impact the Agency. From cybersecurity and cloud services to enterprise applications and infrastructure, you will have the opportunity to work across a broad and evolving technology environment.

The position offers hands-on involvement with Microsoft 365, Windows environments, cloud services, identity management, networking, servers, firewalls, telecommunications, endpoint management, cybersecurity tools, backup systems, and specialized technologies such as video surveillance, electronic access control, VoIP, resident Wi‑Fi, and conferencing systems.

You will also help support and enhance Yardi, Ventura Housing's critical enterprise business platform. Working with departments throughout the Agency, you will learn how our programs operate, troubleshoot application issues, develop reports and dashboards, test enhancements, and identify opportunities to improve workflows through technology, automation, and better use of data.

Just as importantly, this position provides an opportunity to lead and influence. You will help prioritize assignments, monitor service levels, provide technical guidance and training, coordinate vendors and projects, and serve as the department lead when the Director is unavailable. You will be encouraged to research emerging technologies and recommend solutions that strengthen cybersecurity, reliability, operational efficiency, and customer service.
