Direct Client - Program Manager, Columbus, OH - Hybrid
Work Arrangement: 3 days in office/week, 2 days remote/week
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to direct, control, and administer programs and projects within the organization. The Program Manager will be ultimately responsible for the successful execution of assigned projects and management of project teams.
The ideal candidate will drive initiatives from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and meet established business, technical, quality, scope, budget, and resource requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, and closure.
- Develop detailed program/project plans, including scope, tasks, milestones, resources, and timelines.
- Manage and track project progress against approved plans and schedules.
- Monitor milestones and phases and take corrective action when projects fall behind schedule.
- Manage project scope and ensure all scope changes follow established change-control procedures.
- Obtain appropriate approval for scope changes from project sponsors and stakeholders.
- Track and report program/project management metrics.
- Prepare and distribute project status reports and coordinate project reviews.
- Plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple work efforts across teams.
- Tailor and baseline project/program templates as required.
- Communicate project timelines, milestones, phases, work requests, and target dates to team leads.
- Communicate effectively with team members, project sponsors, vendors, external partners, and other stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related issues and resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and project sponsors.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies through closure.
- Proactively identify potential issues and develop appropriate solutions.
- Develop and facilitate achievement of project service commitments and performance metrics.
- Balance workload with team members' capacity and project priorities.
- Plan project-specific training and orientation activities.
- Coordinate and present proposals to agencies when required.

Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of Project/Program Management experience.
- 8+ years of experience managing full lifecycle implementation projects, from requirements definition through implementation.
- Strong experience managing technical/IT projects.
- Experience managing vendors and vendor-driven projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively from frontline staff through C-level executives.
- Proficiency with project management software and tools.
- Strong project planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting experience.
