Job summary

X4 Engineering in San Francisco’s Financial District seeks a Senior IT Engineer to provide hands-on IT support across client environments, manage cloud and access controls, and mentor junior engineers. The role balances technical ownership with client engagement and cross-team collaboration.

You will work on cybersecurity initiatives, incident response, and compliance while helping implement new technologies, upgrades, and onboarding across diverse industries.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in IT infrastructure, systems administration or IT operations.
• Experience within an MSP, managed services, consulting, or multi-site environment.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Google Workspace, Okta, Duo, Jamf, Intune, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to cybersecurity, compliance, and regulated environments.
• Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on IT support across multiple client environments, resolving complex technical issues and acting as a senior escalation point.
• Support cloud, identity, and access management environments across AWS, Google Workspace, Okta, Duo, and MDM platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across endpoints, networking, cloud infrastructure, SaaS applications, and office technology.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives, incident response, vulnerability remediation, security policies, and compliance requirements.
• Assist with the implementation and rollout of new technologies, infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and client onboarding.
• Support endpoint configuration, device deployments, patching, security controls, and hardware lifecycle activities.
• Work directly with client stakeholders and internal teams to diagnose issues and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers while contributing to documentation and operational best practices.
