Job summary

County of Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Information Systems Analyst to lead requirements gathering for large, complex systems and manage documentation across the SDLC. You will coordinate change management, analyze workflows, and guide design sessions with stakeholders.

The role includes evaluating third-party software, performing cost/benefit analyses, and coordinating test plans and deployment strategies within the Fire Department IT function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• Two years of recent, full-time information systems analysis and design experience if using Option I.
• Option II requires one year at the Information Systems Analyst II level.
• Option III requires three years of recent, full-time information systems analysis and design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead elicitation and documentation of user requirements for complex systems; ensure full documentation of functional and technical requirements.
• Coordinate change management documentation and approvals according to departmental procedures.
• Oversee the systems development life cycle to ensure requirements are met.
• Conduct interviews, workflow analysis, and design sessions; document scope and objectives.
• Evaluate products for fit and perform cost/benefit analysis to support build/buy decisions.
