Job summary

8am is seeking a Senior Information Security Manager to lead our security engineering and analyst team, owning security operations, metrics, and incident response. You will partner with US leadership and Czech/EU compliance to align security with business priorities while driving AI-enabled security improvements.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in information security, hands-on cloud security (AWS), and proven ability to operate across time zones with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in information security, including 2+ years leading technical security staff.
• Hands-on depth in cloud security operations (AWS preferred), SIEM/log analytics, EDR platforms, and vulnerability management programs.
• Track record of building measurable, metrics-driven security programs in a compliance-heavy environment (PCI DSS, SOC 2, or equivalent).
• Experience operating in distributed, cross-timezone teams; excellent written communication.
• Fluent professional English.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to improve workflows and security decisions.
• This position is preferably based in Brno, Czech Republic.

Responsibilities

• Team leadership: lead and develop the security engineering/analyst team.
• Security operations: own security platforms and detection/response workflows.
• Metrics & reporting: own security metrics pipeline for reviews.
• AI security: drive AI adoption and enforce security standards for AI systems.
• Incident & compliance leadership: lead incident response and support audits (SOC 2, PCI DSS, EU regulations).
• Security design reviews: lead reviews with risk ratings and documented standards.
• Threat intel & detection engineering: monitor intel and convert to detections.
• Fraud investigation: collaborate cross-functionally on attacks and hardening.
