Job summary

Gainwell Technologies seeks an experienced security engineer to protect networks, systems and data within a large enterprise. You will develop and operate firewalls, IDS, anti-virus, VPNs and password security, while evaluating vulnerabilities and enforcing security configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; 9+ years in network, host, data and/or application security across OS environments.
• Experience with IP networking, security technologies including encryption, VPNs, firewalls, DNS and access lists.
• Experience with federal regulations related to information security (FISMA, C&A).
• Possess security certifications (CISSP, CCNA) and/or TS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identify security risks, threats and vulnerabilities; develop, test and operate firewalls, IDS and antivirus systems.
• Provide engineering analysis for firewalls, routers, networks and OS; perform vulnerability scans and corrective actions.
• Oversee user access processes and password management to maintain system integrity.
• Develop and enforce security policies and plans for data, software, hardware, and telecom.
• Evaluate security products and architectures; produce detailed engineering specs with vendor technologies.
• Review and oversee hardware/software changes affecting security.
• Provide security directives and ensure training for support staff.
