Overview

The Information Security Analyst will play a key role in protecting the organization by monitoring, investigating, and responding to security incidents. This role is suitable for cybersecurity professionals with 2-5 years of experience seeking to expand their expertise. Responsibilities include working with a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provider, assessing security incidents, supporting vulnerability management, and ensuring security best practices across Active Directory, Azure, and AWS environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts from SIEM, EDR, IDS, and other tools.
• Coordinate with MDR provider to review escalated alerts and determine actions.
• Assess security tickets, distinguish false positives from real threats, and escalate or remediate as needed.
• Conduct vulnerability scans, analyze risks, and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Investigate security incidents, document findings, and implement corrective measures.
• Support incident response activities, including containment and recovery.
• Ensure secure configurations, patch management, and access controls in Active Directory, Azure, and AWS.
• Assist with identity and access management, including RBAC and privilege monitoring.
• Collaborate with IT teams on secure deployments and configurations.
• Evaluate information from other teams critically to uphold security standards.
• Work independently to address security issues, escalating when necessary.
• Participate in security awareness, documentation, and reporting.
• Stay informed on emerging threats and industry trends.
• Support compliance and audit activities.

Requirements

• 2-5 years in information security or related fields.
• Experience analyzing security alerts from SIEM, EDR, and MDR solutions.
• Knowledge of MDR operations and incident assessment.
• Experience with vulnerability management and cloud security (Azure & AWS).
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate critical thinking, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Understanding of security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS controls.
• Strong knowledge of network, Windows/Linux, and cloud security principles.
• Basic forensic analysis and incident response skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications like Security+, GSEC, SSCP are preferred but not required.
