Position Summary:

The Senior Information Security Analyst position investigates security alerts, manages, and improves the cybersecurity toolset, detection, prevention, and response capabilities. The analyst will engage in many facets of the information security program while providing guidance and functioning as an experienced resource to junior analysts.

Day to day responsibilities:

1. Protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical data, systems, and services.
2. Categorizes risks and threats by identifying abnormalities and reporting violations.
3. Creates and tunes detection rules.
4. Ensures operational excellence of all security tools and controls managed by the security operations team.
5. Determines security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.
6. Monitors, investigates, and responds to security alerts.
7. Maintains information security documentation and standard operating procedures.
8. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, achieving certifications, and subscribing to relevant publications.
9. Assists in various security projects.
10. Reviews and performs daily routine security system health checks and corrects deficiencies.
11. Provides documentation and evidence to respond to audits during assessments and audits.
12. Answers security-related helpdesk requests and approvals.
13. Provides on-call support as needed.
14. Contributes to team objectives.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have to be successful in this role:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
2. 4+ years of relevant information technology or security experience.
3. One or more information security certifications.
4. Experience with SOC I, SOX, GLBA, and FFIEC regulatory compliance.
5. Experience utilizing EDR for Incident Response, creating detection rules, excluding false positives.
6. Experience creating detection rules, including requirements gathering, tuning, and defining response actions.
7. Experience managing email security controls (anti-spam, anti-spoofing, DMARC, etc.).
8. Strong understanding of core security concepts: Encryption, IAM, Firewalls/Network Security, Incident Response, Security Awareness, DLP, Risk Management, and Least Privilege.
9. Basic understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and the Incident Response Lifecycle.
