Job summary

Gainwell Technologies is seeking an Advisor Information Security Engineer to join our virtual team. The role focuses on identifying security risks, implementing robust firewall/IDS solutions, and enforcing strong access and data protection controls across a multi-platform enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred.
• 9+ years of experience in network, host, data and/or application security in multiple OS environments.
• Experience with IP networking, encryption, VPNs, and access-lists.
• Experience with internet, web, application and network security techniques.
• Experience with Windows, Solaris, Linux security.
• Experience with firewall, network scanning and IDS technologies.
• Experience with federal regulations related to information security (FISMA, CSA, etc).
• Security certifications (CISSP, CCNA) and/or top secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identify security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, apps; develop, test and operate firewalls, IDS and antivirus systems.
• Provide engineering analysis and support for firewalls, routers, networks and OS security; run vulnerability scans.
• Oversee user access processes and enforce security configurations and password management.
• Develop and enforce security policies and standards for data, software, hardware and telecoms.
• Evaluate and test security products and architectures; provide detailed engineering specs.
• Review and oversee hardware/software changes affecting security; provide technical oversight to staff.
• Lead and guide less experienced personnel in security practices.
