Job summary

Jobtailor, a leading data governance partner, seeks an experienced Information Governance professional to lead governance initiatives across bank domains in the United States. You will partner with business, compliance, and IT teams to ensure data integrity, policy adherence, and robust risk management.

Your role includes developing oversight processes, guiding data assets, and mentoring stakeholders while aligning with multi-year roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant education/experience in information/data domains.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in information or data practices including governance, management, analytics and reporting.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience creating and evolving Data Development/Engineering processes.
• Minimum 2 years’ operational knowledge of risk management frameworks.
• Experience in governance with Big Data and traditional DW environments and data sharing.
• Ability to influence across multiple business teams and adapt to changing needs.

Job description

• Drive adoption of Data Governance Policy
• Monitor and report adherence across bank domains
• Facilitate stewardship and stakeholder forums
• Prepare executive, committee, and regulatory reporting
• Support and enable stewardship of data across bank data domains
• Govern Sensitive Data, Information Sharing, Critical Reports, Critical Data, Data SLAs, User Developed Applications, Enablement Zones, Data Asset Inventories, Data Risk Management, and PRCI/RCSA
• Synthesize information, data, and research to recommend information governance initiatives
• Partner with Enterprise teams and stakeholders to enhance information governance processes and tools
• Drive adherence to information and data management governance activities, projects, and approaches
• Influence business awareness of information and data governance among business, technology, security, legal, risk, and compliance partners
• Support information governance guideline, principle, policy, and standard implementations
• Highlight compliance recommendations through design and governance reviews
• Develop oversight processes and measurement approaches through audits, peer reviews, and KRI/KPI monitoring
• Support multi-year roadmaps and implementation plans for information governance initiatives
• Apply data domain knowledge to satisfy regulatory and internal information governance and data management requirements
• Contribute to information governance training content
• Prepare and present gap analyses, education, and recommendations
• Acquire and apply advanced knowledge of business lines, channels, applications, and processes
• Participate in the Information Governance community to mature best practices
• Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Architecture, Information Management, Information Studies, Information Technology, Risk, Audit or related technical discipline; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in information or data related practices including information governance, information management, information architecture, IT, analysis and reporting; OR advanced degree with 4 years’ experience in information or data related practices
• Minimum 2 years’ strong knowledge and demonstrated ability to create and evolve Data Development and Data Engineering processes
• Minimum 2 years’ operational knowledge of risk management and mitigation frameworks
• Experience in governance with modern environments, Big Data and traditional DW environments supporting Data Governance and master data management principles and techniques
• Experience navigating complex governance, compliance, risk management, or regulatory environments
• Ability to balance strategic objectives and operational execution
• Ability to build effective partnerships and influence outcomes across multiple business teams, functions, and stakeholder groups
• Knowledge of information governance, data governance, data management, or data risk management practices
• Experience leading or supporting cross-functional initiatives requiring coordination, collaboration, and stakeholder management
• Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and contribute beyond core responsibilities
• Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT Training Plans
