Job summary

Leidos is standing up a new Agile development team in Washington, DC, focusing on federal IT modernization. The IA Team Lead will mentor engineers, oversee security of systems, and coordinate with IT, legal, and compliance to align security with business goals.

Required TS/SCI clearance, DoD 8570 IAT Level 2, and on-site work in DC as the program matures. Expect an on-site role with early telework in development phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading cybersecurity or IA teams.
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or higher (Sec+ CE or higher).
• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
• Ability to pass additional customer suitability screenings prior to start.
• Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the security of information systems, ensuring they are properly secured, maintained, and compliant with established policies, standards, and regulations.
• Conducting regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk analyses to identify potential threats and weaknesses in the systems and mitigate those risks.
• Ensuring systems comply with relevant security frameworks and participating in regular security audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
• Coordinating the process of certifying and accrediting systems, ensuring they meet all security requirements before deployment.
• Monitoring system activity to detect unauthorized access, malware, and other potential security threats, and implementing ongoing improvements to security controls.
• Working closely with other teams (IT, legal, compliance, etc.) to integrate security into system development and maintenance processes and ensuring security measures align with business objectives.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to IA personnel and conduct performance assessments
• Validate and approve time charging for assigned personnel
