Job summary

Leidos' Information Assurance (IA) team is forming a new IA Team Lead to establish and mentor a group of IA engineers in a ground-floor program supporting federal IT modernization in Washington, DC.

You will oversee the security of information systems, conduct risk analyses, ensure compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance security certifications and accreditation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute degree.
• Experience leading cybersecurity or IA teams.
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or higher (Sec+ CE or higher).
• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
• Ability to pass customer suitability screenings prior to start.
• On-site work in Washington, DC; travel as required.
• Experience with risk assessment, IT audits, security planning, and accreditation.

Leidos' Information Assurance (IA) branch is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Information Technology assets for both unclassified and classified networks. We are currently seeking an IA Team Lead to help establish a new team as well as lead and mentor IA Engineers.

The key duties and responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the security of information systems, ensuring they are properly secured, maintained, and compliant with established policies, standards, and regulations.
• Conducting regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk analyses to identify potential threats and weaknesses in the systems and mitigate those risks.
• Ensuring systems comply with relevant security frameworks and participating in regular security audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
• Coordinating the process of certifying and accrediting systems, ensuring they meet all security requirements before deployment.
• Monitoring system activity to detect unauthorized access, malware, and other potential security threats, and implementing ongoing improvements to security controls.
• Working closely with other teams (IT, legal, compliance, etc.) to integrate security into system development and maintenance processes and ensuring security measures align with business objectives.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to IA personnel and conduct performance assessments
• Validate and approve time charging for assigned personnel

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 12+ years of prior relevant experience; additional related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience leading cybersecurity or IA teams
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or higher (Sec+ CE or higher).
• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
• Ability to pass additional customer suitability screening(s) prior to start
• Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC
• Experience in performing risk assessment, IT audits, security planning, systems accreditation and policy development.
• Experience complying with USG, DoD, and DA regulations and preparing for responding to information security audits and questionnaires.
• Understanding of related information technology (e.g. firewalls, VPN, virtualization, DLP, etc) and physical security assets.
• Knowledge of domain structures, user authentication, data encryption, access audits and end-user security best practices.
• Experience with UNIX/LINUX OS and any scripting language.
• Experience working with IDS/IPS and processes.

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
