Job summary

Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse (Band 7) to provide expert IPC leadership across a designated Clinical Board. You will act as a trusted IPC business partner, delivering strategic guidance and assurance to improve patient safety and care quality, while mentoring others and promoting evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
Degree/Masters level study or equivalent.
Extensive post-registration experience and leadership in infection prevention and control.

Responsibilities

Act as dedicated Infection Prevention and Control Business Partner for a designated Clinical Board.
Lead on infection prevention and control standards, policies and programmes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to investigate incidents and drive results.
Deliver education and professional support to clinical teams on IPC practices.
Undertake audits, surveillance and assurance to reduce healthcare-associated infections.
Provide leadership and role modelling to foster a culture of safety and continuous learning.
