Integrated Solutions for Systems, Inc. seeks a Principal Inertial Navigation and IMU SME to lead development, integration, evaluation, and qualification of advanced positioning, navigation, and timing solutions for military aviation.

The role demands expertise with RLG/FOG IMUs and navigation systems in demanding aerospace environments. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across lifecycle stages, assess sensor technologies, and collaborate with GPS/GNSS, Kalman filters,

Qualifications

• BS degree in a technical field with 10+ years in IMUs or inertial navigation.
• Expertise with navigation-grade and high-performance IMUs.
• Experience in military aviation or aerospace applications.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and verification criteria.
• Strong written, verbal, and customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical SME for inertial sensors, IMUs, and navigation systems.
• Lead lifecycle activities from requirements to fielded systems.
• Evaluate IMUs for suitability across manned aviation platforms.
• Support IMU selection, market research, and trade studies.
• Analyze gyro/accelerometer performance and environmental effects.
• Assist integration with GPS/GNSS, Kalman filters, and mission computers.
• Develop technical specs, test plans, and verification criteria.
• Plan labs, hardware-in-the-loop, flight tests, and qualification activities.
• Mentor engineering teams and communicate risks to stakeholders.
