Job summary

Integrated Solutions for Systems, Inc. seeks a Principal Inertial Navigation & IMU Subject Matter Expert to advance military aviation positioning, navigation, and timing solutions. You will lead technical assessments, architecture, calibration, verification, and fielded-system support across the IMU lifecycle.

Responsibilities include evaluating IMUs, guiding technology trade studies, integration with GPS/GNSS receivers, Kalman-filter-based navigation, and mentoring multidisciplinary teams. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or aerospace engineering, physics, or related field.
• At least 10 years of IMU or inertial navigation experience.
• Experience with military aviation IMUs and navigation systems.
• Strong knowledge of gyroscopes, accelerometers, and navigation performance analysis.
• Experience with GPS/GNSS-aided inertial navigation and filters.
• Ability to interpret requirements and write technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical SME for inertial sensors, IMUs, navigation systems.
• Provide leadership across IMU lifecycle: requirements, design, calibration, verification, production, support.
• Evaluate navigation-grade and tactical-grade IMUs for manned aviation.
• Lead IMU selection and technology trade studies.
• Assess sensor performance, stability, cross-axis sensitivity, and temperature effects.
• Analyze test and flight data to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Support integration with GPS/GNSS receivers and navigation processors.
• Mentor engineering teams and communicate with stakeholders.
