Position Description:

We are seeking a Senior Industrial Process Engineer to join our Water Team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, a Professional Engineer license, and at least fifteen years of relevant experience. The candidate should be self-motivated, collaborative, and possess excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing technical planning, process/mechanical design, and construction support on water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects.
• Engaging in positioning and prospecting activities with potential industrial clients needing water and wastewater treatment services.
• Preparing engineering calculations, running process models (e.g., Excel, Biowin, GPS-X), and supporting analysis of alternatives, including technical memoranda and basis of design documentation.
• Developing design reports and construction plans for industrial treatment plants according to standards.
• Assisting with specifications, permit submissions, scope, budget, and schedule management.
• Monitoring project budgets and progress, documenting design changes, and conducting on-site inspections and start-up activities as needed.
• Preparing project status reports, proposals, and participating in meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Participating in professional groups and presenting at conferences.
• Contributing to the Wade Trim Water and Wastewater Treatment Practice.
• Maintaining strong communication, client relations, and a safe work environment.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering required; Master’s preferred.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 15 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Experience as engineer of record on projects valued at $50M+.
• Knowledge of large-scale piping, valves, pumps, and treatment technologies.
• Expertise in industrial water/wastewater treatment, water reuse, and biological process modeling (Biowin, GPS-X).
• Experience with water systems serving chemical, petrochemical, refinery, pulp & paper, or food processing facilities.
• Active involvement in professional associations (WEF, AWWA, WateReuse).
• Strong communication skills and client relationship management.
