Job summary

Elevate Human Capital is seeking an Industrial Valve Engineer for a client in the south Houston, TX area. The role covers selection, design support, specification, testing, and maintenance of industrial valves and actuators used in piping systems.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 10+ years of valve engineering experience, with familiarity in 3D modeling and AutoCAD, and knowledge of API/ASME/ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Select and specify valves based on process conditions and applicable standards.
• Review project requirements, P&IDs, data sheets, and specifications related to valves and actuators.
• Prepare and review valve datasheets, material specifications, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers on technical clarifications, quotations, and compliance.
• Support inspection, testing, and quality assurance activities (FAT, SAT, pressure testing).
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO).
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operation.
• Assist in troubleshooting valve performance or failure issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to valve performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Select and specify valves (gate, globe, ball, butterfly, control, safety/relief) for projects.
• Review project requirements, P&IDs, datasheets, and specifications for valves and actuators.
• Prepare valve datasheets, material specs, and technical docs; coordinate with vendors.
• Support FAT, SAT, pressure testing, and QA activities.
• Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ISO standards.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operation.
• Troubleshoot valve performance or failures; propose improvements.
• Support continuous improvement for valve reliability and performance.
