Thompson Construction Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Estimator within Thompson Turner Construction’s Industrial Building Group.

This role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates for industrial facilities, warehouses, and distribution centers across the Southeast, leveraging extensive preconstruction experience. Based in Sumter, SC with national project scopes, the estimator collaborates with owners, design teams, and suppliers, ensuring competitive bids, value engineering, and schedule

Competenze

• 4-year degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience estimating industrial projects.
• Proficiency with Primavera and Timberline estimating software.
• Strong written and oral communication; solid math and analytical skills.

Mansioni

• Quantify project quantities using on-screen and manual takeoff tools.
• Assemble estimates into project estimates for budgeting and bid submittals.
• Meet with owners and design team to review estimates, VE, and constructability.
• Review preliminary plans and architectural drawings for the project.
• Determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
• Visit site to note site features and access to infrastructure.
• Create cost-monitoring processes to track profit or loss per project.
• Engage with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing for projects.
