Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking an experienced Industrial Pipe Fitter to assemble, lay out, install, and maintain pipe systems on an industrial construction site. The role requires reading prints, coordinating with team members, and ensuring compliance with safety rules.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of pipe fitting experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work independently or with a crew on complex piping projects for power plant environments.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience.
• Ability to read prints and construction drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturers' instructions.
• Knowledge of pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components for a combined-cycle power plant.
• 4+ years’ experience with pipe fitting processes.
• Good problem-solving abilities.
• Good aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Good reading comprehension and communication with others.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope, locations, quantities and sizes.
• Identify tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and precautions to eliminate them.
• Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe to specifications.
• Install valves, hangers, supports, flanges inside piping system according to plans.
• Perform tests to ensure quality of pipe and piping systems.
• Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and rigging equipment.
