Job summary

Manpower is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to act as a senior technical expert responsible for complex repairs, predictive maintenance, root cause failure analysis, and reliability improvement across critical equipment and facility systems.

Responsibilities include leading advanced troubleshooting on electrical, controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and production support systems, diagnosing complex failures, supporting uptime of presses, weld systems, conveyors, and facility

Qualifications

  • Must meet and maintain Tier I and Tier II qualifications before performing Tier III work independently.
  • 5+ years of progressive industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, production, distribution, or a similar industrial environment.
  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or Automation preferred.
  • Advanced PLC troubleshooting or programming experience preferred.
  • Thermography certification or predictive maintenance training preferred.
  • Rigging certification preferred or ability to obtain as required.
  • Experience developing PM procedures, maintenance standards, repair documentation, or technical training materials.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced troubleshooting and repairs on electrical, controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, finishing, and production support systems.
  • Diagnose complex equipment failures using structured troubleshooting, root cause analysis, technical documentation, and hands-on testing.
  • Support uptime and reliability of critical production assets including fabrication equipment, presses, weld systems, finishing systems, material handling systems, conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, and facility support equipment.
  • Perform advanced preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, alignments, rebuilds, and component replacements.
  • Read, interpret, and apply electrical schematics, ladder logic, machine prints, blueprints, technical manuals, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control systems including motor controls, VFDs, sensors, relays, safety circuits, PLC faults, HMI alarms, interlocks, and industrial automation devices.
  • Assist with new equipment installation, commissioning, startup support, punch list completion, and equipment handoff to production and maintenance teams.
  • Develop, improve, and document preventive maintenance procedures, inspection standards, repair notes, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance best practices.
  • Lead or participate in root cause failure analysis investigations and recommend corrective actions to reduce repeat failures and unplanned downtime.
  • Mentor Tier I and Tier II Maintenance Technicians in safe work practices, troubleshooting methods, equipment knowledge, repair quality, and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, safety, vendors, and maintenance leadership to resolve recurring equipment issues and improve reliability.
  • Complete accurate work order documentation in the CMMS, including corrective actions, findings, downtime causes, parts used, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by following lockout/tagout, electrical safety, fall protection, confined space, hot work, PPE, and company-specific requirements.
