Job summary

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in the Dallas Region seeks a Supervisory Industrial Hygienist (Assistant Area Director) to lead a diverse team of safety and health professionals at the Dallas Area Office. The position is not remote and reports to the Dallas Area Office; it is outside the bargaining unit.

The role involves supervising a multidisciplinary group, guiding workload and performance, and representing OSHA in meetings with employers and labor groups.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a multi-disciplinary group of Industrial Hygienists, Safety and Occupational Health Specialists, and Safety Engineers.
• Distributes workload and assigns tasks; signs performance appraisals.
• Approves use of annual, sick, and/or credit leave of short duration.
• Communicates assignments and time frames to team members.
• Conducts on-the-job assessments of workload, productivity, and quality for policy compliance.
• Makes recommendations on promotions, reassignments, awards, and training opportunities.
• Reviews case files to ensure proper standards and lawful documentation.
• Represents OSHA at meetings with employers, labor groups, and others.
