Job summary

Bastion Technologies, Inc. seeks an Industrial Hygienist, Subject Matter Expert I, to support NASA ARC in Mountain View, CA. You will lead chemical exposure monitoring, ventilation assessments, and hazard communication programs in an industrial research setting.

Requirements include a CIH, a bachelor’s in a related field, US citizenship or PR, and 10+ years of experience with 5+ in leadership. Onsite with some hybrid-work potential, and a broad benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to contract requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, industrial hygiene, or related field.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
• Minimum of 10 years of technical, engineering or scientific experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years of recent related work experience including leading teams.
• Experience writing and reviewing technical reports using standard scientific methods.

Responsibilities

• Execute the Industrial Hygiene SOW and tasks per customer requirements.
• Develop annual budgets for laboratory analysis, equipment calibration, and consumables.
• Perform air and noise sampling for ARC across locations.
• Write and review sampling plans per OSHA/NIOSH methods.
• Review construction permits and attend permit board meetings.
• Recommend ventilation system designs and assess current systems.
• Write/update SOPs for the hygiene team.
• Review chemical purchases and advise on hazard controls, PPE, and sampling.
• Conduct annual audits to support OSHA VPP certification.
• Deliver IH trainings and present results to supervision and management.
• Provide monthly deliverables metrics to customer.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
