Job summary

Bastion Technologies, Inc. seeks an Industrial Hygienist (Lead & Asbestos) to oversee asbestos/lead-related activities at NASA Ames Research Center. You will support chemical exposure monitoring, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and related hygiene programs in an industrial setting.

The role includes sampling, calibrations, PPE assessments, and training, with compliance to CA CAC and CDPH Lead Inspector/Assessor certifications. Hybrid work with some travel.

Qualifications

• This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
• Must hold CAC (CA Cal OSHA) and Lead Inspector/Assessor certifications.
• Minimum bachelor's degree in science or engineering with 3+ years related work experience.
• In lieu of degree: 7+ years of related experience accepted.
• Experience in writing and reviewing technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Recognize, evaluate, sample and recommend controls for asbestos/lead per regulations and NASA requirements.
• Support industrial hygiene programs under supervision of a Certified Industrial Hygienist.
• Measure air velocity in fume hoods and local exhaust ventilation systems.
• Conduct noise measurements and devise noise reduction strategies.
• Perform air sampling for hazardous chemicals and calibrate instruments.
• Conduct respirator fit testing and exposure assessments.
• Audit shops, labs, and offices for OSHA VPP-related support.
• Provide PPE assessments, training on occupational health, and plan reviews.
• Recommend corrections and follow-up actions for deficiencies.
