Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an EH&S Senior Specialist to lead industrial hygiene programs in academic and research settings. You will partner with researchers and leaders to identify hazards, evaluate exposures, and implement controls for safe, compliant workplaces.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience, with strong knowledge of IH practices and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time on-site position with occasional after-hours duties.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with regulatory agency codes (NIH, BMBL, EPA, OSHA) preferred.
• Knowledge of IH principles and hazard risk management.
• Ability to evaluate multiple programs and plan improvements.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety and IH assessments to identify health hazards and exposures.
• Develop and manage IH programs, policies, and procedures for compliance.
• Create sampling plans and measure personnel exposures and controls.
• Lead or support investigations of occupational illnesses or exposures.
• Prepare detailed reports with findings and corrective actions.
