Job summary

Jennmar Automation, LLC is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Charleston team. You will troubleshoot and repair 480V three‑phase systems, motor controls, MCCs, and PLC‑controlled equipment in a heavy manufacturing environment, while ensuring reliable production operations.

You will diagnose VFDs, HMIs, sensors, relays, and interlocks, read electrical schematics, and perform preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in steel processing, stamping, or heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting ability with PLC‑controlled equipment (mostly Allen‑Bradley).
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and Lockout/Tagout.
• Industrial electrical training, apprenticeship, technical school, or equivalent experience.
• Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, email and job related internet research.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair 480V three‑phase power distribution, motor controls, MCCs, transformers, relays, contactors, overloads, and control circuits.
• Diagnose and maintain VFDs, PLC‑controlled equipment, HMIs, sensors, safety relays, scanners, light curtains, and interlock systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and OEM info.
• Replace parts and locate replacements in inventory databases.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
• Support mechanical technicians during repairs including motors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Participate in equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and capital projects.
