Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) seeks an experienced Electric Motor Mechanic in Houston to repair industrial AC/DC motors, generators, gear boxes and related equipment, contributing to continuous improvement and safety.

The role requires diagnosing, disassembling, repairing, and assembling units, performing mechanical rebuilds, measuring and recording data, and working with specialized test tools. Candidates should have 10+ years in a motor repair shop and be able to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electric motor repair shop servicing large AC, DC, and synchronous motors.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing rotating equipment (motors, fans, pumps, gearboxes).
• Able to perform basic math and read measurements.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and withstand physical demands.
• Committed to safety and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose incoming units, disassemble, repair, assemble, and prepare items for shipment
• Perform mechanical rebuilds on rotating apparatus repairs like electric motors, pumps, and fans
• Measure and record data using tables, dial indicators, micrometers, and vibration meters
• Use multimeters, megger, Baker instruments, and measure winding resistance, RTD and heater resistances, and mechanical fits and clearances
• Participate in daily operation discussions on customer products
